Assembly Manager and Kaizen Coordinator

Zehnder Rittling, a subsidiary of Zehnder Group AG – a publicly traded international organization, is seeking candidates for Assembly Manager and Kaizen Coordinator for its Buffalo, NY facility.

This person that fills this position will serve as a leader, coach, and an advisor to all team members of the assigned production areas to ensure team and facility goals are met or exceeded. Will manage the assembly manufacturing operation from sub assembly through final assembly using Lean Manufacturing techniques for improved production and continued cost reductions. Must be the leader in the Lean transformation effort within the Company. Acting as facility Kaizen Coordinator, lean manufacturing projects and workshops must be developed, executed and sustained by this individual.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree minimum, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering related field or equivalent experience. Successful experience with 3-5 years in lean manufacturing leadership including Kaizen facilitation. Must possess high degree of knowledge in lean manufacturing systems, operations, process design, and quality, as well as a well developed and proven leadership style with the ability to mentor, coach, counsel and train employees toward long-term departmental and organizational goals - while working in a team environment. Demonstrated employee relationship and management skills to support, develop, and lead a cohesive, team. Ability to effectively communicate to groups of employees with diverse educational backgrounds to assure desired actions and outcomes are understood and to effectively present information and respond to questions from technical and management groups. Project and program management skills and proven financial capabilities to maintain quality, cost, and timing of programs. Ability to apply and interpret basic statistical techniques. Strong analytical and disciplined problem solving skills. Ability to use deductive reasoning and keep several activities moving forward simultaneously. Ability and willingness to work occasional off-shift hours to train staff and support kaizen events.
